This weekend Gabe turns THREE! The festivities started Friday with a picnic in the park with Gabe's class. Every year the school celebrates birthdays with a homemade (make that kid-made) cake and the very special reading of the birthday boy(or girl)'s favorite book. Oscar Otter wasn't available on the shelf, so we had to settle for Gabe's *other* favorite book, Where the Wild Things Are, by Maurice Sendak. It's actually his favorite, and he knows the whole thing by heart, but the class already had a copy and we had initially thought it might be nice to branch out. It ended up just fine, though, because the kids LOVED dad's rendition (note the showing of terrible claws). It was also fun for us, because we almost never get to actually see the kids on the loops. It's pretty adorable. Jonah's teachers also brought him out to the park so he could say a quick hello. The big kids LOVE when the babies come to visit, but babies are never quite sure what to do with all that attention!
