VOTE 2008

November 4, 2008: Today we got up very early (ok, that wasn't on purpose, but it happened, so we went with it!) and all four of us headed out to vote. Luckily our polling location is right around the corner, so it wasn't much of a walk. Plus, even though the line was WAY longer for the M-Z group, it wasn't bad at all. After only about 15 minutes, we were officially on record (we hope) for Obama in this very historic and important election. We feel incredibly lucky to have had such an easy time voting, and are totally inspired by all those people out there working to make sure others have an easy time as well. We did have one little "election protection moment," in which dad was told he could not take a picture of mom voting with Gabe and Jonah. We're not really sure if this is true or not, but dad was OUTRAGED! Luckily, we did get a few good shots, and we'll always have the memories.

UPDATE: We have recently been informed by an actual Election Protection volunteer (YAY Aunt Rachel!!) that, in fact, the poll worker was correct, and photography is not allowed. Luckily we got this video anyway, so now we can be proud that our neighborhood polls are following the rules!
